Why this hierarchy? These two-track attitudes are everywhere. A study last month, meanwhile, found that one in three people living with sufferers of severe mental illness were themselves discriminated against. Few people would recommend someone living with schizophrenia for a job, and even mental health professionals hold negative attitudes towards them. Some 88% of people with severe mental illness say they experience stigma. Even though psychology and psychiatry have gripped the film industry, psychosis still gets a bad press They felt more fear and less desire to help. People were less likely to want someone with schizophrenia as a housemate or co-worker than in 1990. A study of 10,000 people spanning the three decades to 2020 found that by nearly all measures, stigma towards the disorder had worsened. In fact, when it comes to schizophrenia, we seem to be getting less enlightened. While attitudes towards milder and more common mental health conditions such as anxiety, low mood, stress or burnout have improved, more serious disorders such as schizophrenia and psychosis trail far behind. Britain’s Time to Change campaign that ran for 14 years to 2021 was shown to have caused a “significant” drop in stigma.īut behind this good news story is something more important. People feel able to seek the help they need without risking their jobs, relationships or social lives. This slow medicalisation of our lives has attracted criticism but surveys show it seems to have had a positive effect: discrimination and negative reactions to mental illness are increasingly taboo. Therapy-speak infuses the language: triggering, boundaries, projection, self-care – stiff-upper-lipped Brits have expanded their vocabularies. Diagnoses have broadened – more of us see grief and stress as mental illnesses than we did a decade ago. We can also get anxious when it comes to things to do with money and not being able to meet our basic needs, like heating our home or buying food.”īritain is certainly more aware than it used to be. “Lots of things can lead to feelings of anxiety, including exam pressures, relationships, starting a new job (or losing one) or other big life events.

I don't think it was worth the $30 or $40 that it was originally selling for, but for under $20, it's a great time even if you never touch the (Wi-Fi Ad Hoc) multiplayer. I think I paid about $15 a few months after it came out. It previously did have an online repository for user-created content (which shared content with the PS3 version), but that was shut down about 2 years ago.ĭespite those issues, I'd still say it's worth getting, if you can get it for a good price. They also never bothered to include online play, which was a total shame and was rightly criticized in reviews (even the DS and 3DS Mario Kart games had online play). The Vita game has somewhat long load times (like the PS3-hey, developers, you didn't have to replicate everything from the TV console), and the frame rate can be a little questionable at times. Game Starts (if CD mounted of course) but mouse jumps to right side of screen. You don't need to install special drivers or anything like that. Mouse-Jumping Problem is gone! Works fine! If you start Stonekeep DON'T klick (release) the Mouse before the Main Menu appears (you can skip the Intro-Sequence with SPACE).Īt the Main Menu (Load Game, New Game), you can release the Mouse (with klick). The Mouse-Jumping is a Resolution Problem! There's two solutions: Either you don't "lock" your mouse onto Dosbox (you can still move your mouse outside of Dosbox then) and then click inside Dosbox once the game has started OR you keep the mouse button press while the intro movies play. Works fine except that the mouse still pulls to the right. When im trying to run setup.exe in stonkeep folder i got message that: "HMI driers not present in current directory" and when im trying to run game by running any of the files (sk.bat), i got message that: "cannot find config file". However i got it installed fully via windows. I have installed Stonekeep via normal windows, cause when i was trying to install it via Dosbox, setup couldn't finish copying files (it copied only data folder). What I don't know how to do is get this game going while running Linux. It may or may not work here, but it writes it to some file and will work inside Dosbox. I fixed it by running setup in Windows and selecting all the default information for the plain SoundBlaster card (16). The only other thing you can do is download VDM SOUND (do a google search). So if your CD drive is set to E: then it would read CD=E: remember to change the bit at top which says CD=G: to whichever drive your cd drive is mounted as in DOSBOX. Go to the CONFIG file in INTRPLAYSTONKEEP, make a backup copy, then edit the original file using notepad.Įnter the following in place of the existing info: Again, these forums do not allow backslash characters.īackslash character is a line top left running diagonally down to the bottom right (the reverse of the one on the ? key) Also, make sure there is a backslash after the CD=G: at the top. Those listed items where meant to have been on separate lines - these forums chuck everything on the same line. Can I run the CD on DOSbox somehow, or do I have to download the game from somewhere. I've downloaded DOSbox for windows and I still have the original Stonekeep CD. Hi, I suck at computers, but I really love this game and want to get it working. Moreover, all assets commissioned specifically for this project (including sprites and *some* of the backgrounds) are intended for exclusive use within this project. It also was (and still is) created for my friends, meaning there may be some ongoing references and quirks that are of a more esoteric character.
